NYFW: Heading to La Voûte

Believe it or not, this season marks my first year intentionally attending fashion week here in NYC. I’ve lived here for a decade and over the years have only randomly attended events and shows, but this year was different. I went in with a plan of showing up everyday fully dressed, glam, and ready for whatever came my way.

I was heading to La Voûte’s pop-up, a brand by Adrienne Bailon (yes, that Adrienne Bailon). She was the Cheetah Girl I always loved for being glamorously-extra. For me, this only left two options for attire: show up glam or stay home. Naturally, I chose the first option. I wanted something neutral in tone, but also to make a statement since it was my first season really coming out to these fashion week events the way that I should’ve been for all the previous years. I suppose I’m making up for lost time.

The Look

Wearing my mom’s pearls is probably one of my favorite past-times. It’s a touch of femininity that elevates so many of my looks and became a staple in my personal style. So for this one, I wanted to go all in. I found this gorgeous pearl cape/bolero on Amazon that I just HAD to have. I didn’t want anything distracting under it so I layered with a bandeau bra from Skims (in the color ochre) for a cleaner look. It’s definitely giving luxury, but secretly on a budget ;)

Silver & Riley has quickly become one of my favorite bag brands to carry. I’ve partnered with them several times over the past few years and have somewhat of a collection that I’ve accrued from working together. The one I have here is their newest bag, the New Yorker in Cobble Hill Camel. And for the shoes, these pearl heels have been styled on repeat because of how much I love them. They’re comfortable enough for me to wear on outings but outrageously GORGEOUS! I bought them from Public Desire years ago and they’re easily my most-complimented shoe. What’s even better is the price tag (hello, boujee on a budget!). These Amina Muaddi dupes are worth signing up for restock notifications since they usually come back.

Let’s not forget these unique trousers I grabbed from Elisabetta Franchi. These have the coolest detached front mesh pockets. It’s details like this that really get me excited about what’s coming next from a designer. These particular trousers are sold out but there’s so many incredible pieces to choose from by this brand, so no worries if you can’t find these! No kidding, I literally bought the last pair. I honestly couldn’t believe my luck.
