What I Wore in Connecticut

Connecticut is the perfect place to wear a mix of wardrobe that’s relaxed, timeless, and chic. I went during the late days of Spring when the temperatures are nearly perfect and the flowers are in bloom. During my stay at the Mayflower Inn, I wore softer colors like pale yellow, ecru, and I brought one piece that would for sure stand out, blue floral bell bottoms.

Connecticut Casual

Keep it Connecticut Casual

I went for a soft yellow trouser paired with a striped jumper for an elevated casual look. I added woven pointy toe flats with pearl details to dress it up a touch more while still being comfortable.

If you’re unfamiliar, the “dress code” for Connecticut casual is in between casual and formal. Certainly don’t show up fully donned in a suit or gown and don’t opt for your gym gear you may run to the grocery store in either. This style typically is comfortable yet dressed up. This could be flowy trousers with a cardigan and nice flats, or a midi dress with a low heel.

Neutral Dinner Outfit

This was my Mother’s Day dinner outfit. I wore all ecru with a pop of pearls on my shoes and earrings. I was quite the dare devil defying all odds wearing this knowing we were bringing both of our kids (3 and 11 months) with us to a fancy setting. Believe it or not, I made it out unscathed and just as clean as I walked in.

Glam in the Shakespeare Garden

When I spotted these floral pants on fellow creator Sasha Exeter, I knew I had to have them. I immediately messaged her for details before they were sold out. As most of you know, I’m a statement piece girl, and these certainly fit the bill. They’re slightly sheer, but the blue, purple, and green floral print hides the skin a bit. I ended up styling with a corset button-up blouse I found on Zara. I wanted something that would really stand out from all the greenery surrounding me. Mission Accomplished.
