Color-Blocking: Red & Pink

As we all know, color-blocking is nothing new; however, it is a sure-fire way to spunk up your look. I was feeling ultra playful, so I decided to wear a red and pink striped skirt and super femme t-shirt by Boohoo. I love how vibrant the red is in the skirt, so I opted for red accessories (Steve Madden ‘Vala’ pumps and a handmade tribal necklace from Kenya). Why? Because more is more! This midi skirt was a must-have for two reasons: the vibrant colors and asymmetrical stripes are just too fun (plus, the whole look was on sale).

It’s also a major plus that the waistband fits my baby bump so comfortably. I’m currently 5 months along and at that annoying phase where just about all of my pants just don’t fit anymore. Luckily, this piece has a stretchy band that fits snug just above my bump and still gives me that cute, flirty look I was going for.

Mixing red and pink used to be a faux pas, but the right blend makes it a bold statement. This trend isn’t just reserved for Valentine’s Day anymore. You can find these mixtures of colors in day-to-day street style, red carpets, and on the runway.

XOXO
